Not much to add. The weather has been very changeable with quite a lot of rain. Very few insects about. The chicks are not moving about much but growing well. Hard to get an interesting clip but here is one from yesterday showing chicks with an adult.

At about this time the chicks always want to go for a walk in the attic. If they were in a swift nest box they would have a lot less room. In the past I have been scrabbling around with a fishing net to rescue one of them. Hopefully they won’t wander too far.

Been away for a few days. Weather has been warm even a little hot. The chicks are doing very well. Short clip from today.
Tuesday 25th June 2024
Hottest day of the year by far. Yesterday got a short clip of the 2 chicks. They look very healthy. Away for a couple of days.
Sunday 23rd June 2024
We have low cloud and drizzle today. It’s supposed to be sunny. The adults spending more and more time off the nest. I can’t remember if I mentioned 7 adults screaming round the house earlier in the week. As it’s cooler today the 2 chicks snuggled together.

At last we have some sun and heat. This morning there were 8 swifts screaming round the house before breaking into several smaller groups. A lovely sight. I now know only 2 chicks in the nest. Here is the evidence from yesterday.

Now sure there are 2 chicks in the nest. Had much better views today. Just a short clip showing them both with an adult.
I keep forgetting. I would love to know who is watching my blog. Please leave a comment for me. Thank you so much.

Still unsure as to how many chicks. Definitely 2 but still a maybe 3. Clip from today showing 2 I think.
Friday 14th June 2024
Been away for a couple of days. Adults leaving chicks alone more often. They huddle up together and don’t move much. Watching closely for 30 mins I am sure there are 3 chicks. A clip of them in the nest but not easy to see all of them.

Very fortunate to catch the nest adult free again tonight. Managed to get a clip showing that there are definitely 3 chicks in the nest. One is much smaller than the other two but looks very healthy. If there is enough food two swifts can easily bring up 3 chicks.
