I was so lucky. Was out with friends this evening when I had the chance looked at camera to see empty nest with at least 2 chicks. Then both parents arrived one after the other. I think the chicks had been well fed during the day as they didn’t seem very interested in more.
Friday 10th June 2022
It is still cool for the time of year and there is a swift on the nest all day. Did manage to catch a shift change and a quick view of 2 of the eggs.
Tuesday 7th June 2022
It has been unseasonably cold this year so far. I have not seen the adults staying on the nest so much and am sure this is due to the cold. Yesterday got a brief glimpse of the nest and I think it shows the 3 eggs as before.
Saturday 4th June 2022
The adults have been incubating the eggs most of the time so I have not seen the eggs. Yesterday however one of the adults had a walk and exposed the three eggs. Here is the clip.
Wednesday 1st June 2022
Most of the time one of the adults has been on the nest. I was lucky to catch a change over revealing 2 eggs. Later the adult moved and 3 eggs on the nest. Lovely news.
Friday 27th May 2022
Have been away for a few days. There has been an adult sitting on the nest nearly all the time. Just got a glimpse of the unattended nest. Some new feather nest building so I can only confirm the one egg but suspect the other is hidden. Short clip showing this.
Saturday 21st May 2022
At least one adult has been on the nest most of yesterday evening and this morning. At about midday they both left revealing 2 eggs.
Friday 20th May 2022
Still just the one camera. Yesterday was very surprised to find an egg on the nest. This afternoon windy and overcast with both adults on the nest so not able to see if still just the one egg. Yesterdays clip of the bedroom nest.
Thursday 12th May 2022
Due to various things only one camera this year and I am not able to monitor it as much as previous years. Tonight was the first night I have seen both the bedroom nest swifts on the nest. Yet another year they have both managed the long migration and successfully found their nest on return. It never fails to stagger me. Here is a clip showing them both.
Sunday 8th May 2022
The blog will be much less this year. One of the cameras has stopped working properly and being older than I was when it was first installed I can’t reach it. So I only have one camera. Also due to personal circumstances will not be blogging as often. On Thursday the 5th May saw my first swift on the nest. The bedroom nest is the only one I can monitor this year. Just the one swift and it may have been here for some time as I have been away. Short clip confirming my first view.
