What I thought was an egg last week turns out to be a stone. Today first sight of our first egg.

The swifts have been coming and going a lot. The weather has been great up until a couple of days ago. They have been collecting feathers the most common nest building material. A couple of clips from last week.
This morning while out in the garden eventually counted 7 swifts flying round the house. I am sure at least 4 of them are nesting in our house. Quick Look at camera and I think I saw an egg. For the rest of the day it’s not as obvious. Hope I am tight.
The nest is empty most of the time but managed to catch them both together. If you look carefully there is a sparrow just outside the nest area in the second clip
Both swifts home
Nest empty most of the day but tonight two swifts present. At least 5 years they have flown to and from Southern Africa and found a small missing stone in the eves of our house. it still astounds me.
Was away this week but on Wednesday our cleaner found a swift caught up in the net curtain in one of our bedrooms. Not the bedroom nest window. I think a new breader found a gap (in the sash window) instead of the eves. Then at lunchtime today we found a swift on the floor in our landing. It must have come from the attic. It seemed fine so I took it into the garden and held my hand high and it flew away and 3 others swooped down as if to welcome it back. I only have a camera on one nest and so far have only seen one swift on the nest. Regularly getting 4 screaming round the house. Short clip from the bedroom nest.
Earlier this year but I first heard then saw in the camera the first of the bedroom nest swifts has returned from Southern Africa. it’s a my to have them back again. Short clip just to show you all.
