Another hot day but a good breeze so not overly uncomfortable. Two clips from the chimney nest showing 3 chicks in the nest and one on walk about. The clip from the bedroom nest shows one of the chicks exercising his wings and doing wing press-ups. This is a sign that they are preparing for life on the wing. A bit earlier than I expected but not too unusual.

Another hot day but a cooler breeze. This morning while in the garden was bombed by 7 screaming swifts flying at head height. Even felt the breeze from one of them. 2 clips

Hot and muggy today. At one point this morning counted 11 swifts screaming round the house. It was wonderful. Not seen so many for ages. 4 clips tonight. 2 from each nest. The chicks are almost the same size as the adults. They are now moving about outside the nest. First 2 clips from the chimney nest showing one or two chicks outside the nest. The third shows how far they get from the nest and finally an adult being bombed.

Another hot day. Up to 6 swifts screaming round the house. I am sure there are 3 nests in the attic but the third one is not accessible. It was not as humid as yesterday but the chicks are restless. Two clips. I was lucky to catch the 3 chicks in the chimney nest. The second shows one adult with the 3 chicks in the bedroom nest.

A very hot day today. I little uncomfortable for me but in the eves it must have been very hot. Adults out for much of the day and chicks restless in the nest. The chicks are now hard to tell from the adults. Feathers developing well and about the same time. Three clips. 2 from the chimney nest clearly showing 3 chicks and one from the bedroom nest showing the chicks looking out, or trying to get more air.

Only just home. Two clips from the chimney nest. I can only definitely count 2 chicks. One clip from the bedroom nest showing all 3 chicks.
Tuesday 5th July 2022
Will be out tonight and away for a couple of days. Two short clips showing 3 chicks in each nest.
Monday 4th July 20222
Calmer and warmer day today. This morning had 4 swifts flying up to the eves of a part of the house with no nests as far as I know. 2 clips. Shorter one from the chimney nest showing two of the three chicks. The longer clip from the bedroom nest showing an adult returning the having been bombed by three hungry chicks flys off again.
Sunday 3rd July 2022
Cool today with some sun on and off. While watching there were no good clips to be had. Just the one with one adult and the three chicks in the bedroom nest. The chicks are growing fast. Wing feathers are now clear to see.
