Early report today but have good news. Rained most of the morning but when the bedroom nest swifts left there was one egg on the nest. Also about 1pm a couple of swifts were flying up to the eves and explored at least 3 possible sites with at least 1 of them entering the attic space. I had to laugh as twice they flew out hotly pursued by a sparrow. There are many sparrow nests in the attic. For a short time the sparrows were as fast as the swifts. I am hopeful we may have another potential nest. At the end of last year a pair of swifts were trying the same area but didn’t manage to get in but it was too late for them to be a breeding pair. I can’t see into the chimney nest for eggs but I think there maybe eggs as one swift is on the nest a lot of the time. Short clip showing the egg.
